Clint's Jazz Band

clints-jazz-band-savoy What is included in the package?

Our prices include professional disco lighting, PA system, travel costs, and in the case of weddings a complimentary arrangement of a song for your first dance. We also include a specialised sound technician overseeing the quality of listening experience for the whole evening. During our breaks and afterwards we can either offer you a DJ at extra cost or the use of an iPod or MAC playing premixed disco or background tunes from all eras. Alternatively you can bring your own iPod to play on our system. After setting up (about an hour before we start) we perform two one-hour sets at times of your choice, usually an hour of Rat Pack/Swing/Jazz/Michael Bublé and an hour of Classic Pop. You always have the choice to opt for a whole evening of Jazz Standards and Rat Pack songs though. The sets are normally spread over a three hour period, and the bandleader will stay until 12am playing music on the iPod free of charge.

Are you a professional band?

Yes, we do this for a living so you can be sure we take every aspect very seriously.  All members of the band are professional musicians and you can expect us to check every detail with you, turn up on time, plan our journeys, comply with all health and safety and insurance requirements and be friendly, professional and efficient in all our dealings.

What about song choices?

You get to choose what kind of atmosphere you would like to create for your event.  We can either play sophisticated Swing & Jazz all night, or include Soul & Classic Pop numbers for more of a party atmosphere and a packed dance floor.  Listen to the audio samples and check out all the song possibilities from our repertoire of much loved numbers.

Do we need a DJ as well?

Sometimes, due to the timing or nature of an event, a DJ can be a fun addition to your evening, however, there is an extra charge.  The price includes all extra PA equipment and extra effect lighting, as well as the option to have music past 12am.  Just make sure there’s room for all of us!

Do you bring your own PA equipment and lights?

Yes. We have a powerful, state of the art system that comes with a specialised sound technician providing a quality listening experience for up to 300 guests. We also have stage and dance floor lighting for any sized dance floor.

Will you travel anywhere?

Yes.  The band are based in Royal Greenwich, London, but we travel both in the UK and internationally, and only add on travel costs for journeys more than one hour from London.  In the case of long distance travel of over 4 hours, local accommodation will be required.

What do I need to provide for the band?

A suitable level performance area, with x4 13amp plug sockets.
A typical seven-piece band requires at least a 15ft X 20ft area to be comfortable.  The use of a secure room with lighting and chairs for the band to use as a ‘green room’ is always helpful to store instrument cases and ensure we aren’t disturbing your guests.
Two parking spaces and easy access to the performance area to facilitate loading/unloading.
A hot meal and bottles of water.  Catering companies are well versed in providing meals for your photographer, band, and any other personnel on the day so please liaise with them.

Is it possible to see the band live before booking?

Not usually as most performances are at private events, so clients don’t always feel comfortable having others along to see the band.  From time to time we do perform at public events and other charity fundraisers, so it’s worth checking if there’s a concert in the diary.
Please listen to our audio tracks, as they are a true representation of the live performances.  Remember, we use West End musicians at the top of their profession so we can guarantee high quality entertainment on the night.  Trust us!

Have you got Public Liability Insurance?

Clint’s Jazz Band Ltd is insured for public liability up to £10 million, and all PA and electrical equipment is PAT tested annually and approved for health and safety requirements.  All members of the band are members of the Musicians Union so they’re covered separately as well.  A copy of our certificate can be obtained for you or your venue on request.

What about music for our ceremony and drinks reception?

We can, of course, provide you with music for your ceremony or drinks reception too. We are able to supply solo piano players or church organists, harpists and string quartets and smaller jazz ensembles for either the ceremony or drinks reception. We can organise all the music and ensembles for your special day from start to finish.
